dc.description.abstract The main objective of our study is to explore the use of ecological methods for the treatment of wastewater and sludge, within a sustainable development framework. This research is divided into two main parts. The first part involves treating wastewater from the Bougherdayen wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) by coagulation-flocculation using natural products as bioflocculants-biocoagulants: potato peels (PPT), aloe vera (ALV), and basil (BSL). The results show that the reduction of turbidity and the elimination of colloids follow the order: 94.76% for potato peels, 76.25% for aloe vera, and 59.375% for basil, with optimal masses of 0.4g, 0.6g, and 0.6g respectively. Potato peels proved to be the best bioflocculant. The second part of the study focuses on the conditioning and treatment of sludge from the Bougherdayen WWTP using biopolymers such as potato extract, starch, and chitosan. The results show that chitosan is the best bioflocculant-biocoagulant, achieving a dryness of 79.52%, almost comparable to the polymer used in the Bougherdayen WWTP, which is estimated at 84.21%. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of natural bioflocculants-biocoagulants in the treatment of wastewater and sludge, offering an ecological and sustainable alternative to traditional methods. en_US
