Abstract:
In this work, LaFeO₃ perovskite oxide powders were synthesized using the sol-gel method with citric acid as a complexing agent, then calcined at different temperatures (750, 800, and 850 °C). Characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to investigate the structural properties. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared catalysts was evaluated through the degradation of malachite green under visible irradiation—both natural and artificial (sunlight and LED lamp light)—as well as ultraviolet radiation. It was shown that the LFO850 oxide yielded the best results under various types of radiation, confirming that calcination temperature affects the photocatalytic activity of the catalysts
