Abstract:
Today, herbal medicine is a medical discipline that uses plants to treat and relieve various
illnesses, particularly respiratory tract ailments. It is becoming an increasingly popular option in
the healthcare sector.
This thesis focuses on the formulation of an antitussive syrup based on ivy (Hedera helix).
This plant is recognized for its antitussive properties. Currently, ivy is widely used in various herbal
preparations to treat mild respiratory disorders, particularly coughs.
The aim of this work is to formulate a stable and standard-compliant dosage form (liquid)
from Hedra helix extract and suitable excipients. Quality controls were carried out to examine the
physicochemical properties (pH, viscosity, density, turbidity), ingredient compatibility, and
stability of the finished product. The results show that the product is stable and well tolerated and
complies with pharmaceutical standards. This work highlights the importance of herbal medicine
