Abstract: This work is part of the study of the influence of salts on the liquid-liquid equilibrium of a partially miscible ternary mixture based on experimental results previously achieved. In fact, the presence of salt introduces ionic forces directly influence the distribution coefficient of the solute on its solubility either by increasing it or by decreasing it, leading to “Salting-out” and “Salting-in” respectively. The equilibrium data of the system studied Water-Acetic acid-butanol-1 were obtained in the presence of two salts KCl and CaCl2 at several mass percentages (5%, 10%, 15%) and were compared in terms of efficiency of solvation. The experimental results have clearly shown the influence of different salts on the liquid-liquid balances of the ternary systems studied and that the presence of salt modifies this balance in favor of the extracted phase. The reliability of the experimental data obtained was successfully verified by the application of Othmer-Tobias and Hand correlations.
