Abstract: | Platelet concentrate transfusion is a therapeutic act that involves administering LSP from one or more healthy subjects called donors to a sick subject called a recipient. Transfusion safety is governed by the recommendations of the National Blood Agency (ANS), which ensures good control of all stages of the transfusion chain from blood collection, preparation of the product, its biological qualification until the transfusion act is performed and even monitoring of recipients. We used the CP records from the CHUC blood transfusion centre over a four-month period (October 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018). We also conducted a prospective evaluative study of transfusion practices of platelet concentrates with 106 staff members (medical, paramedical and biologists) from different departments of medicine, surgery, resuscitation and operating room of the CHUC by means of an anonymous survey of 49 questions. ° This enabled us to take stock of the difficulties in the functioning of the transfusion system at Constantine University Hospital, especially in terms of organisation, material and personnel management, and also to design several proposals that we have grouped together in the form of a theoretical and practical model to be followed and which, we hope, will make it possible to remedy these dysfunctions. |
