Abstract: Natural materials that are friendly to humans and the environment have attracted great attention worldwide and are widely used in medicinal and cosmetology settings. The objective of this work concerns the formulation of a sunscreen based on the combination of green synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles carried out by ecological methods, using the extract of Ocimum basilicum leaves as a reducing and non-stabilizing agent. Toxic, as well as the study of their characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR) and the extract of lemon balm leaves obtained by maceration characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR). Furthermore, we discussed also followed the cream prepared by different tests of pH, viscosity, stability and the evaluation of the antibacterial activity and the determination of SPF magnitude to guarantee their effectiveness. Furthermore, the combination between zinc oxide nanoparticles and lemon balm leaf extract exerts a very high antioxidant and photoprotective effect confirm by the antibacterial effect. Finally, the sunscreen prepared complies with standards.
