Abstract: A medicine is distinguished by its curative and preventive properties, which depend on its composition. It must meet five fundamental requirements: quality, efficacy, purity, identity, and safety. Its release into circulation can only occur after quality controls throughout the entire production process. Drug-related risks represent a major public health issue, both clinically and economically. 71 This study aims to monitor the production stages of "Eupnex" syrup, manufactured by the pharmaceutical company SAIDAL in Constantine, as well as the product's physicochemical and microbiological quality control. Physicochemical analyses performed on the raw materials and the finished product revealed compliant values. Identification of active molecules and preservatives by infrared spectroscopy also confirmed product compliance. In addition, HPLC assays of the active ingredients and preservatives yielded compliant results, while microbiological analysis showed the absence of E. coli in the finished product. Thus, the drug "Eupnex" is considered to be of good pharmaceutical quality. Finally, we carried out a sizing of certain devices in the water pretreatment unit used at the treatment plant, including the heat exchanger.
