Abstract: This study evaluated the effectiveness of a laboratory-developed ceramic ultrafiltration membrane for the treatment of synthetic coloured solutions, textile industrial waste and pre-treated wastewater. The results show a very good performance of the membrane, with high retention rates of red dispersed dye 167, a significant reduction in turbidity, TOC, COD and MES, as well as stability of the permeate flow under different operating conditions. The tangential filtration mode proved to be more efficient than the frontal mode in limiting clogging and improving separation. Process efficiency is influenced by parameters such as pH, transmembrane pressure and initial concentration. The results suggest that the membranes developed and tested during this study are highly effective for treating various textile waste, which is essential to help reduce environmental pollution. It is important to note that there are still many opportunities for improvement and optimization, and the results of this study can be used as a basis for future research and applications
