Abstract: According to the UN, more than 80% of the population lives in cities. The latter have known over the years different approaches, concepts and futuristic perspectives developed with the aim of improving the living environment of the inhabitant, of meeting their needs within the city, while guaranteeing their security. Among its concepts, we find the "intelligent city" an urban extension attached to the mother city built with the aim of reducing the needs for housing and equipment of the inhabitant on one hand, to achieve the sustainability of the new city by promoting urban intelligence on the other hand. This smart city uses information and communication technologies (ICT) to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants. In six dimensions, that completes each other that identify the smart city promoting better interaction and guaranteeing inhabitants the improvement of their quality and living environment. Around the world, several smart cities have emerged, in Algeria the new city of Sidi Abdallah appears as the first experience of this revolutionary prototype, an ambitious project that remains unfinished to this day.en_US
