The course Risk Management 2, delivered in the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Urbanism (S6), offers an in-depth analysis of the integrated management of major risks in urban environments. It is situated within a methodological perspective aimed at articulating territorial planning and the prevention of natural and technological disasters. The program addresses the theoretical foundations of risk management, highlighting their historical evolution and their institutionalization at the international scale. The course examines regulatory instruments such as the Natural Risk Prevention Plans (PPRN) and the Technological Risk Prevention Plans (PPRT), emphasizing their role in controlling urbanization and reducing vulnerability. It also gives particular attention to the Algerian context through the study of national legal and institutional frameworks in the field of risk prevention and reduction. Furthermore, the teaching develops the concept of urban resilience by analyzing strategies of adaptation, mitigation, and governance in the face of major hazards. The adopted approach is multidisciplinary, mobilizing spatial analysis tools, case studies, and international reference frameworks. Thus, this course aims to train urban planners capable of integrating risk management into sustainable planning policies and of contributing to the construction of safer and more resilient territories.en_US
