The Algerian market has been experiencing strong demand for dietary supplements for some years now. This trend is putting a strain on the state budget, which spends considerable sums importing these products. The development of a national food supplement industry must therefore be a strategic objective for the public authorities. However, the design of such products, particularly those based on plants, is a complex field, subject to specific regulatory and manufacturing requirements. The use of plants in the production of food supplements implies compliance with strict sanitary and legal obligations to guarantee their safe use. This work aims to provide an overview of the key stages in the development of a herbal dietary supplement, highlighting the importance of quality, safety and efficacy of the final product. The development of a herbal dietary supplement is a complex process requiring in-depth scientific, technical and regulatory expertise. The production of food supplements incorporating high-quality plants can help meet the growing demand from Algerian consumers and stimulate the national economy.en_US
